Martinique, in the Caribbean
Where the Old and the new exsist next to each other.

Clearing into Martinique went trouble free, costed 5 euro in 2019, and done at the marina office. Finding anchoring space was a bigger problem. French is the language but we could get along with English and hands-language.
Internet upload speed was good in Martinique.
At Fort-e-France we anchored across the bay , and took the ferry to the capital, 7euro return (Jan2019). It drizzled the whole morning and by lunch it came down in bucket-loads. We joined others trying to be very small and thin beneath overflowing umbrella roofs. In comparison to Le Marin and St.Pierre, the market in Fort-e-France was a rip-off.

Mount Pelee - the volcano which erupted a century ago and wiped out st.Pierre. Please watch my movie 'ASHED'. Below are the shipwrecks of the tragedy and on top - today - are boats and boats. Today the ruins are monuments and St.Pierre a buzzing tourist town with a relaxed atmosphere and a great Friday-market.
Martinique, the dirty and the pretty,
decay and pride.
the sad and the happy.
When I think of Martinique, I smile.
Thanks for watching.
