Nevis & St .Kitts Islands

NEVIS & ST.KITTS
Sound ON to hear the story.
We had a tough day sailing the few miles from Antigua to Nevis. Little wind, changing winds, confused seas, no wind, islands of seaweed which hooked onto the windvane-rudder throwing us off-course, rain and more rain. Nevis has a high mountainpeak which are almost always in the clouds. The dinghydock at Charlestown was a complete disaster. Ferries run non-stop between St.Kitts and Nevis making waves which inconveniently rock the boats .
We visited the cultural village. It was not 'living' as the signboard said. Some of the remains of cotton and sugarcane factories were still there. It did gave us a chance to see some of the island during our bus rides. It was the first island where we actually saw food gardens. The man in the info centre was extremely knowledgeable.
But the stitch-ART-work done by Nevisislandliving.com was out of this world.
It was interesting to learn that Nevis was THE hub during the slave-trade-period, due to its location and ship-safety.
We took a dip in the hotwater pools and explored the beach.
Apparently we were on top of the garden of Stoffel the seaturtle. He came on inspection everyday.
We sailed to Whitehouse Bay in St.Kitts and spent the next ten days there.
In St.Kitts we could finally upload video's.
Cruising along the coastline of St.Kitts we saw a hurricane lay-up boatyard, a fort and  some interesting history.
At the western point of St.KITTS we rested for the night.
Thanks for watching.
